  • Pour oil in pan, warm it for 1-2 mins on a medium heat
  • Add garlic, fry for a few seconds until it starts to brown slightly. Add onions and fry until they turn translucent
  • Season with salt and pepper. Add sugar, oregano, basil and chilli and cook for 30 seconds
  • Pour in passata and stir
  • Simmer until the sauce is thick and stops splashing. Leave cool fully

Assemble the pizza rolls

  • Preheat oven at 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment paper
  • Spinkle flour on a clean surface and roll the dough into a large rectangle around 1/4 inch thick (0.6cm) with a rolling pin
  • Spread the sauce all over the dough. Sprinkle with cheese and toppings before rolling into a tight tube from the long edge
  • Carefully slice the tube into 15 equal pieces with a sharp knife and place them on the lined tray
  • Bake for around 20 minutes or until they start to brown
  • Take the tray out of the oven and sprinkle a small amount of grated cheese on top of each roll before placing them back in the oven. Cook until the cheese melts.
